How the formats work
- EMOM
- Every minute on the minute: start at the top of the minute and rest for what is left. With three exercises you go through them minute by minute.
- Interval
- Work for a set time, rest for a set time, repeat. 45 seconds on and 15 off is a classic for HYROX stations.
- Tabata
- 20 seconds all-out, 10 seconds rest, eight times: four minutes.
- AMRAP
- As many rounds as possible: keep going through the list until the time is up.
- For time
- Once through the list as fast as you can. The clock counts up, or down to the time cap.

How to use an EMOM timer
An EMOM starts a new set at the top of every minute. Finish the reps, rest for what is left of the minute and go again. The faster you move, the more rest you get.
With three exercises the list rotates: minute 1 SkiErg, minute 2 wall balls, minute 3 burpees, then back to the top. Set 4 rounds and you have a 12-minute EMOM.
Training in a group? Put a name next to each exercise. With names that rotate (Athlete Pro) everyone moves one station on every minute, and the screen shows who goes where.
